A Critical Insight into Needs Assessment Technique and the Way Social Needs are Actually Assessed

Needs assessment is regarded as a powerful tool for addressing the needs program, and various other purposes including strategic planning resource allocation, priority setting, improving course of an ongoing program. As such, it portrayed ideal necessary step in policymaking. On hand, however, there are some growing concerns about actual practice which believed by many to be prejudicing performance countless policies programs. Hence, looking into this dichotomy views way social actually assessed particular interest. The present contribution seeks delve deep technique give insight on what ought done field being fact. A systematic literature search was conducted identify analyze all available research studies that address function assessment, problem definition need identification classification needs, definition, description, specification target populations, description nature service needs. content relevant sections each study then read reread with aim determining how indeed. result has shown their identification, they met, most cases determined experts agencies, not needy populations. also revealed existence significant gaps between identified professionals those seen important people who supposed benefit. Finally, suggests agencies’ or populations only reflect own choices program activity reasons brandish seeking funding.
